61-year-old NFL Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice is ready to fight anyone who disrespects the 49ers.
On Thursday, Rice got into a heated altercation with two Kansas City reporters at the American Century Championship.
Rice believed the two journalists were taking shots at the 49ers when he asked him a question about the Chiefs receiving core. A heated Rice threatened to “F Up” the two Chiefs reporters.

Jerry Rice got so ticked off at a pair of reporters on a golf course on Thursday … he actually threatened to rough them up — and the heated altercation was all caught on video, obtained by TMZ Sports.
The tense scene happened toward the end of the NFL legend’s American Century Championship practice round in Lake Tahoe … after some Kansas City-based media members asked Rice a question about the Chiefs’ 2024 wide receiver core.
Jerry says he took it as a dig on his former Niners squad (K.C. did, after all, just beat San Francisco in Super Bowl LVIII with a similar WR core) — and he insisted the men said it with smirks on their faces

The Chiefs reporters posted a statement on Twitter apologizing for the encounter but insist they were innocently asking what he thought about the Chiefs’ receivers.

“We meant absolutely no disrespect to Jerry or the 49ers when asking this question as we have a profound respect for the great players that have played this game, especially (in our opinion) the greatest receiver of all time.
The confrontation that followed was very unfortunate but we were not trying to elicit a negative reaction and there were no “smirks” as Mr. Rice suggested. We simply wanted the input of the greatest receiver in league’s history about the Chiefs receiving corps and if it had improved enough to continue winning at a high level after an historically rough season for the group.”
