Josh Allen and Amari Cooper Are Singing Each Other’s Praises After Bills-Browns Trade

On Monday, the Buffalo Bills gave themselves some breathing room atop the AFC East with a victory over the New York Jets. Just one day later, they added a true No. 1 wide receiver for quarterback Josh Allen in Amari Cooper, striking a trade with the Cleveland Browns on Tuesday.

While Cooper goes from one of the NFL’s worst offenses this season to the second-highest-scoring team in the AFC, his excitement for a fresh start quickly became apparent. And for all the positive things Cooper had to say about his new signal-caller, Allen also had no shortage of praise for the 30-year-old pass-catcher.

Both Allen and Cooper spoke about the trade on Wednesday and specifically offered glowing reviews of one another.

Allen cited the emotional boost that comes with adding a player of Cooper’s caliber while stating the entire offense will welcome the five-time Pro-Bowler with open arms, as ESPN’s Alaina Getzenberg highlighted.

“Absolutely, it’s Amari Cooper, so, we’re very excited about that,” Allen said when asked if the addition is an emotional boost for the offense. “I know the whole offense is, and that receiver room, they’re going to welcome him with open arms and be ready to work with him, and try to learn from him, too, because he’s had a lot of success in this league and obviously holds a lot of knowledge, so I think it’s going to help our guys a lot.”

Getzenberg then highlighted Cooper’s comments on Allen, with the 30-year-old calling his new teammate “one of the top quarterbacks in the game.”

“As far as the way [Allen] plays, I mean, it’s phenomenal,” he said. “Every time I turn on the television and watch him play, he plays with a lot of grit, a lot of hustle, he plays hard, and obviously he’s been one of the top quarterbacks in the game for a while now. So, just to be able to play with him and experience that in person, I think it’s going to be real cool.”
