PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered two new injuries in their 37-15 win over the New York Jets. Cornerback Donte Jackson left with a shoulder injury, while defensive tackle Montravius Adams suffered a knee injury.
Jackson had long been dealing with the shoulder injury. He first hurt his shoulder against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 3 and has played through the injury since that moment. Jackson exited the game after trying to make a tackle on Jets running back Breece Hall and did not return to play.
In his place, James Pierre stepped in. Second-year standout Cory Trice is still sidelined by a hamstring injury but could return for the team’s matchup with the New York Giants next Monday.
As for Adams, he suffered a knee injury in practice on Friday. He was limited and listed as questionable, but decided to give it a go. However, Adams left the game early and was quickly ruled out. Dean Lowry and Isaiahh Loudermilk played more in his absence after the injury.
Pittsburgh will likely be without center Zach Frazier and outside linebacker Nick Herbig against the Giants but should get much healthier after the bye week.
