Jamie Carragher shares the one doubt top clubs have about Murillo at Nottingham Forest

Jamie Carragher was on Sky Sports duty for the Monday Night Football, and he gave his opinion on one Nottingham Forest star before the game.

Nuno Espirito Santo continues to get the very best out of players that haven’t always been world-beaters in the past at Nottingham Forest.

Nikola Milenkovic is the prime example of finding gems in the rough during transfer windows, as his £12 million fee already looks like a bargain.

Murillo the same, with his new valuation reportedly at around £70 million after Chelsea’s interest in signing him.

Anthony Elanga is another in the same boat, signing for £15 million and attracting £50 million interest from Newcastle United in the summer.

However, Jamie Carragher was unsure on whether a top could would want one of those players in particular.

Jamie Carragher unsure on whether a top club would want Murillo

Ian Wright will have something to say about Carragher’s opinion, as he’s been very vocal with his praise for Murillo this season, stating he’s his favourite player to watch.

He’s been a brute force at the heart of the defence and has the pace to deal with even the nippiest of attackers, so it’s no surprise he’s attracting attention.

But, Jamie Carragher wasn’t so sure when talking about him on Sky Sports‘ Monday Night Football.

The former Liverpool defender stated.

“Because the thing with Murillo is sometimes you might look at his size. If you are a top club, would you bring him in?”

He did praise him prior to this statement.

“Since Murillo came in, I mean, the Forest fans love him because he is not just a good defender, he has a great left foot, he has shots from far out.”

Should Nottingham Forest accept a £70 million offer for Murillo?

Murillo’s future could very much be dependent on where Nottingham Forest find themselves in the table come January time.

Right now, Forest are in a promising position with a European place in their sights, but things can change with lots of games to play before January.

The Brazilian is very much still at the start of his career at 22, so there’s no rush to get the big move.

However, should an offer of £70 million come in, Forest may have to opt for the profit given the current PSR climate, as a £55 million increase is nothing to shy away from.
