Stephen Curry’s Potential Absence Gets Honest Take From Key Warriors Weapon: ‘It’ll be a great challenge’

The Golden State Warriors no longer have Klay Thompson, and now, they are facing the possibility of not having superstar point guard Stephen Curry active for several games. The two-time NBA Most Valuable Player suffered a painful ankle injury during Sunday night’s 112-104 loss at home at the hands of James Harden and the Los Angeles Clippers.

Curry hurt his ankle twice in the Clippers game before leaving the contest for good with 18 points on 6-for-11 shooting from the floor. He also garnered four rebounds and six assists to go with two steals and a block.

Curry is 36 years old but the Warriors still heavily depend on him. With Curry possibly missing time, the Warriors are getting ready to take on challenges on the court without him temporarily.

Buddy Hield speaks up about possibly playing without Stephen Curry
Warriors shooting guard/forward Buddy Hield knows that getting things done will be much harder for Golden State if Curry gets ultimately sidelined.

Via Kendra Andrews of ESPN:

“We’ve just got to stick together,” Buddy Hield told ESPN about the possibility of playing without Curry. “It’ll be a great challenge.”

If Curry misses time, the Warriors will need someone to take over primary scoring responsibilities. As the sixth man, Hield is averaging 19 points in 20.8 minutes and is shooting 53% from 3.

The Warriors can afford to lose Curry for now, with the season having just started. They have two home games up next, both at home and versus the same opponent in the form of the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday and Wednesday.
