Browns making QB switch to Dorian Thompson-Robinson

The Browns are making a quarterback change.

Cleveland will turn to second-year QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson to start the team’s Week 16 matchup against Cincinnati.

The news was first reported by Brad Stainbrook of 247sports.com.

Thompson-Robinson will be making the fourth start of his career and the first of this season. He came on in relief during Sunday’s loss to the Chiefs after Jameis Winston threw his third interception of the game. Thompson-Robinson finished 4-of-9 for 18 yards with a pick. He rushed three times for 16 yards.

Thompson-Robinson’s first appearance of the season came against Cincinnati on Oct. 20 after Deshaun Watson suffered a season-ending Achilles tear. In that game, Thompson-Robinson completes 11-of-24 passes for 82 yards this two interceptions.

Last season, Thompson-Robinson completed 53.6 percent of his throws for 440 yards with one touchdown and four picks in eight appearances with three starts.

Winston has started Cleveland’s last seven games, with the club going 2-5 in that span. He’s completed 61.1 percent of his passes this season for 2,121 yards with 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

Winston threw eight picks in the Browns’ last three games.
