Marco Silva has insisted he has received no contract offer from Benfica amid reports in his native Portugal that he is ready to leave Fulham to succeed Jose Mourinho.
Silva is out of contract this summer and the build-up to Sunday’s trip to relegated Wolves was dominated by discussion of his future on Friday.

“Let’s be clear about it because I think it is important to clarify that I didn’t have any offer from Benfica, I didn’t have any conversation with Benfica and it is important right now to tell the truth about that situation,” Silva said.
Fulham have been keen to keep the 48-year-old, but Silva insisted the ongoing uncertainty was not having a negative impact on planning for the future.
“Of course we are preparing for the next season with the football club,” he said. “We have been having meetings and of course the final decision will come and when it will come we are going to know from myself and from the football club, but everything is being prepared from us.”
Asked when he might be able to offer clarify on his future, Silva added: “I don’t know when the decision will come, I don’t know.
“It is a decision that we have to take, of course myself I have to take, but when it is coming I cannot tell you, I don’t know.
“Let’s see, now we are focused on the Wolves game and after that we will see what is going to happen.”
Silva set to reject Nottingham Forest move
According to Portuguese outlet A Bola, via Sport Witness, Silva is also attracting interest from Nottingham Forest, namely from owner Evangelos Marinakis.
The pair worked together during Silva’s time at Olympiacos, and the Reds owner is a big fan of the 48 year-old even despite Vitor Pereira’s impressive start to life in the Midlands.
He is set for heartbreak however, with the report claiming Silva has no intention of moving to the City Ground.
It’ s not all good news for the Cottagers either though, as the report also dispute Silva’s own comments, saying ‘all signs point’ to the tactician swapping London for Lisbon this summer.
