Ipswich Town are closing in on the signing of experienced Fulham midfielder Sasa Lukic.
As per talkSPORT commentator Ben Jacobs, the Blues are close to thrashing out a deal for the 29-year-old and he could undergo a medical tomorrow.
Lukic is a 62-cap Serbian international who has racked up 92 Premier League appearances for the Cottagers over the last three-and-half seasons.
Since arriving for an £8.8m fee from Italian club Torino he’s been a mainstay in a side that has secured four straight mid-table finishes in the top flight, but was about to enter the final year of his contract.
Lukic will become the eighth fresh face to be signed by new Blues boss Gary O’Neil this summer and the second central midfield addition this week following Tuesday’s arrival of Florentino Luis (Burnley, £16m).
With both Azor Matuswia and Jack Taylor in a race to be fit for the Premier League opener against Sunderland on August 22, O’Neil said he wanted ‘one or two’ more midfielders on top of Florentino.
