Jayson Tatum Reveals His Thoughts On Jaylen Brown Not Being On Team USA

When it was announced that Kawhi Leonard was leaving Team USA prior to the Olympics, some people thought he’d be replaced by Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown.

Instead, it was Celtics player Derrick White who was called up and that has fans talking.

Speaking to NBC Sports, Jayson Tatum was asked if he has spoken with his teammate and if it is hard not having him as part of Team USA.

Tatum gave a brief answer, stating that he hasn’t spoken with Brown and that he would have liked to see his Celtics teammate in the Olympics.

Brown just had a stellar season, averaging 23 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.6 assists on 49.9% from the field.

On top of those numbers, Brown was a true monster in the postseason and earned Eastern Conference Finals MVP as well as Finals MVP.

Plus, he also received his third All-Star appearance in 2023-24, proving that he’s easily one of the biggest names in the NBA.

But that wasn’t enough for Team USA and they made the quick decision to sign White instead.

That has rubbed some people, including Brown, the wrong way.

Since the selection of White, Brown has made a few cryptic social media posts that suggest he is unhappy being left off the team.

Will these words from Tatum make Brown and his fans happy or upset?

While Tatum said some kind things about Brown, he didn’t give a full-throated endorsement for his teammate and instead said that several other NBA stars were a good fit to take Leonard’s spot.

This statement from Tatum probably won’t cool off the growing controversy around Brown, White, and Team USA.
