Ravens Are Signing Former Bears Safety

Heading into the 2023 NFL season, the Baltimore Ravens looked like one of the most stacked teams in the league, especially on the offensive side of the football, with superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson finally signed to a contract extension and ready to take the NFL by storm again.

Although many questioned whether everything would come together in Baltimore with Jackson staying healthy throughout the regular season and into the NFL playoffs, the Ravens lived up to expectations and became arguably the best team in the league.

Unfortunately for Baltimore, the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs proved to be too much to handle for Jackson and company when the playoffs rolled around despite getting the best of CJ Stroud and the upstart Houston Texans in the second round.

Despite falling short to the Chiefs last season in the playoffs, Baltimore is determined to bounce back with a vengeance in 2024, with the team making some considerable upgrades to their roster, with the most notable addition being superstar running back Derrick Henry.

Along with Henry on offense, the Ravens have also upgraded defensively, with the team bringing in two-time Pro Bowl safety Eddie Jackson, formerly of the Chicago Bears, on a one-year deal, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

In seven seasons with the Bears, the veteran safety racked up 15 interceptions,10 forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, 44 passes defensed and six defensive touchdowns.

Although Jackson is arguably past his prime at 30 years old, he can still be a force to be reckoned with in the secondary and an upgrade for the Ravens defensively.
