Nottingham Forest could end striker’s nightmare as transfer conditions and interest revealed

Nottingham Forest could be set to revisit a move for ex-Watford forward Ismaila Sarr amid claims they and Crystal Palace are keen on a deal this summer.

Forest were linked with Sarr back in 2023 and again in January this year and now L’Equipe are claiming the Reds are in for him once again.

Palace have already reportedly made an offer for the attacker who has endured a tricky time in France after moving to Marseille for an undisclosed fee last summer.

A fee of around £10m might be enough to tempt Marseille to part company and would lead Sarr back to the Premier League where he was once considered hot property.

He had been linked with big moves to clubs like Liverpool but that move never materialised. Marseille are said to be keen on a permanent deal but would not be against the prospect of a loan with an option to buy in order to free them of his salary.

That might tempt some Premier League clubs to take the bait and L’Equipe say the interest so far has come from Forest and Palace.

Sarr rose to prominence at Watford who paid £27m for the striker who scored 33 league goals during a four-year spell at Vicarage Road. But since moving to France, he has made just 23 league appearances, scoring three goals.

Forest are still looking at making further signings this summer as they look to prepare for the new Premier League campaign.
