The NBA world will be watching Team USA closely as it continues on its path toward the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
Armed with a star-studded roster featuring the likes of LeBron James and Stephen Curry, Team USA is considered the overwhelming favorite to win the gold medal though they have shown some cracks during exhibition play.
In their most recent matchup against South Sudan, Team USA found itself trailing for most of the afternoon before turning it on in the second half.
However, South Sudan nearly pulled off the improbable upset in the final moments as they just missed on a layup and putback attempt.
While the Americans will happily take the win, it goes to show that they’ll have to earn their victories in every game.
Their next game is against a strong Germany team and Tyrese Haliburton said he’s looking forward to the challenge via USA Basketball’s official Twitter account.
“It’s good competition, it’s good run for us,” Haliburton said. “Now we got Germany who won the World Cup last year, so it’ll be a really good challenge for us.”

Haliburton was on the Team USA roster for the 2023 FIBA World Cup and saw firsthand just how good Germany is.
Led by Dennis Schroder, Franz Wagner and Moritz Wagner, Germany’s got the NBA talent to compete with Team USA on the floor.
While the Americans have a better team and roster for this matchup, it’s hard to discount a Germany squad that’s got great chemistry and balance so Team USA must be prepared for another dogfight.
