Aaron Wan-Bissaka has given the green light to West Ham

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has given the green light to West Ham as he closes in on a departure from Manchester United, according to Football Insider sources.

After weeks of speculation, West Ham finally seem to be closing in on the signing of a new right back. After initially focusing on Kyle Walker-Peters from Southampton, and then Noussair Mazraoui of Bayern Munich. Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka is set to be the man to compete with Vladimir Coufal for the right back position for West Ham this season.

The Hammers are now in advanced talks with Manchester United after the player ‘agreed’ personal terms. The fee is expected to cost between £10-15m initially with up to £5m in future add-ons. This will fund United’s move for Noussair Mazraoui, who West Ham also held a firm interest in. Despite agreeing a fee with Bayern, West Ham refused to meet his agents financial demands so moved on to Wan-Bissaka.

Many West Ham fans believe the clubs move for Mazraoui wasn’t fully serious, and that Tim Steidten used the deal to make Manchester United sell Wan-Bissaka to West Ham, so they could bring in the Moroccan defender. Erik ten Hag is keen to link up with the right-back again after coaching him in over 100 matches at Ajax.

While quite uninspiring compared to some Tim Steidten signings so far, Wan-Bissaka is a very solid signing for West Ham if it goes through. A brilliant one-on-one defender, which makes him known as one of the best defensive full-backs in world football. The signing also means that Lopetegui may look to make Emerson a more crucial part of the team going forward, West Ham fans were very impressed with the Italian last season, and with more license to attack, his talents may finally get noticed by fans of other Premier League clubs.
