Sacramento Kings to Work Out 3 Veteran Free Agents Ahead of Training Camp, Including Former Disney Bubble Star

The Sacramento Kings have 14 players on standard contracts, and they are looking to make one more addition before the start of training camp in preparation for the 2024-25 NBA season.

According to Sam Amick of The Athletic, the Sacramento Kings will be choosing between TJ Warren, Jae Crowder, and Nassir Little to bolster their forward depth behind DeMar DeRozan, Keegan Murray, and Jalen McDaniels.

TJ Warren played only 11 games for the Minnesota Timberwolves last regular season, averaging 3.7 points and 2.0 rebounds in 11.4 minutes per game. The 31-year-old forward hasn’t played a full season since injuring his left foot, which caused him to miss the entire 2021-22 campaign.

He played his best basketball during 2019-20, especially in the Disney Bubble, averaging 19.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.2 steals on 53.6 percent shooting from the field and 40.3 percent from three-point land.

Nassir Little became a free agent when the Phoenix Suns waived him last month. The 24-year-old combo forward appeared in 45 regular season games, averaging 3.4 points and 1.7 rebounds in 10.2 minutes per game.

Jae Crowder played 68 regular season games (28 starts) for the Milwaukee Bucks this past year and a half, averaging 6.4 points and 3.4 rebounds in 22.0 minutes per game.

Sacramento Kings have high expectations in 2024-25

After missing the playoffs last season, the Sacramento Kings brought in DeMar DeRozan to create a new Big 3 of him, De’Aaron Fox, and Domantas Sabonis. They also signed head coach Mike Brown to a new extension earlier this summer.

DeMar DeRozan said the Sacramento Kings can make it to the Western Conference Finals. However, that will be easier said than done since the Western Conference is stacked, with the Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, and the Dallas Mavericks, among others, still there.
