Jets head coach gives encouraging update on injured veteran

Jets offensive lineman Morgan Moses will miss a “couple games” but will not be placed on injured reserve, head coach Robert Saleh told reporters on Wednesday.

The veteran exited in the third quarter of Thursday’s win against the New England Patriots with a knee injury.

Moses went down with five seconds remaining in the third quarter after quarterback Aaron Rodgers was sacked for a loss of eight yards. He walked off the field on his own, but he was limping and it was clear he was hurting. He then went into the blue medical tent with trainers before heading into the locker room.

2024 first round pick Olu Fashanu entered the game for Moses.

The Jets signed Moses as part of their offensive line revamp. The 32-year-old was with the Jets during Saleh’s first year coaching the team in 2021. General manager Joe Douglas let him walk in 2022, then he went on to be a two-year starter for the Ravens in front of Lamar Jackson. He rejoined this Jets this offseason.
