Aaron Rodgers Gives Concerning Answer When Asked How He Plans To Stay Motivated This Season

As the New York Jets enter their Week 12 bye week with a 3-8 record, the team now faces the prospect of playing over a month of meaningless games, as Gang Green is surely out of playoff contention. Considering that the team entered the season with Super Bowl expectations, the 2024 Jets campaign has been nothing less than a disaster.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is at the root of the team’s issues, came to New York to win games for the Jets, but so far, he has a worse career winning percentage with the team than Sam Darnold and Zach Wilson.

Now that their chances of making the playoffs are dead and buried, the Jets — who’ve gone 1-5 since owner Woody Johnson decided to fire head coach Robert Saleh — face a tall task when it comes to simply staying motivated.

When asked how he plans to do so, Rodgers gave a virtual non-answer about having plenty of experience and reminding himself why he fell in love with the game.

“I’m in my 20th year so I’ve figured out a way to do this for a long time so you’ve just got to remember why you fell in love with this game,” he said. “This will be definitely a week to clear all of our heads and come back and stick together.”

The problem with Rodgers’ answer, however, is that he hasn’t particularly shown the capacity to play the game with the joy of a child, as Jets fans have been noticing and complaining about his negative body language all season.

“Aaron Rodgers’ body language has been the single most disappointing thing to watch. He looks miserable ALL THE TIME,” one fan said during the Jets Week 11 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

“Aaron Rodgers always shaking his head like he can’t believe what happened when he’s what happened,” said a viral tweet with over 1 million views.

“Aaron Rodgers’ body language on the field drips with petulance and it’s gross,” added another frustrated fan.

At the conclusion of the 2024 season, the Jets will extend their playoff drought to 14 years, the longest in the four major American sports leagues.
