It doesn’t matter where the New York Jets turn, there always appears to be something on the field that gets in their way in 2024.
In some games, special teams breakdowns solely cause the Jets to lose games, other contests show the defensive breakdowns as the reason. In most cases, though, the offense simply isn’t doing enough with the talent on the current roster.
And Aaron Rodgers, the man who was supposed to fix everything with his presence on the field, knows he is to blame for much of it.
“It falls on me at the end. I got to make sure that we’re not having those. I mean, listen, there were a lot of things that went into that, but we got to get lined up, we got to get the call right, but in the end, I got to get the ball snapped if I can,” Rodgers said. “There’s going to be timeouts from time to time, but we just got to get lined up and then I got to make sure we get out of the huddle quicker.”
From an operational standpoint, the Jets have really struggled to move the ball. They take too many pre-snap penalties, take too long to get out of the huddle, and take too long to actually get their plays started.
In many cases, that falls on Rodgers to have his offense playing better.
And it things can’t turn around for the 2-6 squad, his playing days in New York could actually be coming to a close.
