Adam Underwood and his recruitment team have another week to ensure Daniel Farke has a squad good enough to survive in the Premier League

Leeds United are keen to bring in a couple more signings before the end of the summer transfer window next week. The Whites are aware of a couple of holes in their squad and are pushing to plug them before the September 1st transfer deadline.

Adam Underwood and his recruitment team have another week to ensure Daniel Farke has a squad good enough to survive in the Premier League by the end of the season.

A win over Everton at home in their opening game of the season was a huge lift for the newly promoted club, but a 5-0 defeat at Arsenal on Saturday was a harsh reality check of their overall quality and the challenge they are facing in the top flight of English football.

Daniel Farke would prefer to sign one more striker before the end of the transfer window, but the club are on the cusp of signing Leicester defender James Justin and are keen to add one more wide attacker, with Largie Ramazani set to leave on loan before the end of the transfer window.

Leeds United are in a £30m transfer battle for Dilane Bakwa

Leeds United hold an interest in Strasbourg winger Dilane Bakwa and are considering making an offer for him in the ongoing summer transfer window.

He would prefer to move to Leeds over other options, but for the moment, the Whites do not have an edge in the race to sign him in the coming days.

Sunderland and Nottingham Forest are ahead of Leeds in terms of the groundwork they have put in to set up a deal for the winger this summer.

Leeds remain keen, but according to Leeds Live, manager Daniel Farke has a clear preference for someone else.

The Whites have been alerted to the prospect of signing Nico Gonzalez, who is set to leave Juventus before the end of the summer transfer window.

He is a versatile attacker who can play across the forward line and behind the striker. Farke would prefer to sign him over Bakwa in the coming days.

Farke’s preference is natural

Gonzalez is the kind of player that would naturally attract Farke. The Leeds manager is a fan of players who can play in multiple positions and provide more options.

Leeds need a wide player as well as an attacking midfielder, but may not have the budget to sign two players for those positions.

Gonzalez would be a useful signing as he can play in both positions and provide the manager with more tactical flexibility in the Premier League.

The Argentinian also has the experience of playing for a big club such as Juventus, but he is also wanted at several other clubs, and Leeds need to make a decision soon.
