Aston Villa ace Boubacar Kamara injury update emerges post ACL rupture

Aston Villa midfielder Boubacar Kamara is expected to return to training post his injury in the final week of September at the earliest, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that as he’s returning from an ACL rupture, the club will also not be looking to rush him back.

The France international has been available for the Villans since February 2024.

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News:

“Considering his expected date is mid to late October, they’ll likely currently be ramping up to more football-specific activities and gradually increasing that intensity and duration.

“The key is getting them ready for partial training and then moving to full training from there so he’d perhaps be back in some training on the other side of the international break in the final week of September, at the earliest.

As he’s returning from a long-term absence, an ACL, the key will be not to rush him back and they’ll certainly be aware of that.”

Boubacar Kamara’s return will be crucial for Aston Villa

Known for his defensive solidity and ability to progress the ball, Kamara’s absence has left a void in Villa’s midfield, particularly in maintaining possession under pressure and transitioning play.

His injury sidelined him for the remainder of the 2023-24 season, impacting Villa’s campaign across multiple fronts.

With his anticipated comeback, Unai Emery will be looking forward to regaining a key component of their tactical setup, enhancing both their defensive stability and offensive transitions.
