Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Broderick Jones has shed the brace on his elbow after over a month and a half of wearing it. At Thursday’s practice, Jones was seen without the brace for the first time since the injury, wearing a much smaller brace this time around that allows for more mobility.
Jones looks much better with that brace off, and even though he is dealing with other injuries around that, it seems that Jones could be on track to getting healthier. His struggles could be a boost for his game.
The Steelers benched Jones during their game in Denver against the Broncos. Rookie Troy Fautanu will now start at right tackle, with veteran Dan Moore Jr. at left tackle.
Head coach Mike Tomlin said he would allow Jones to rebound. Jones said on Thursday that he was moving past his game against the Broncos after watching the ugly tape. He continues to rep on both sides as the team’s swing tackle, but barring injury, his next snaps in an NFL game will likely come as a left tackle.
