The Chicago Bears‘ 2025 season hasn’t gone according to plan, at least through two games.
After weeks of excitement and discourse that this team could, and would, compete for the NFC North title, their 0-2 record has slightly taken the wind out of their fans’ sails.
Caleb Williams hasn’t taken the step forward that many people expected, and with some tough opponents on the horizon, the Bears could find themselves in a nearly impossible situation to dig themselves out of.
Their Week 3 matchup is against Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys, a team that’s 1-1, whose only loss came at the hands of the defending champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, in a hard-fought battle.
Not many people expected the Cowboys to be good this year, but if their two games have shown anything, they’re ready to prove the doubters wrong.
New Bears head coach Ben Johnson paid his respects to Prescott and the Cowboys’ offense in a recent interview, indicating that the veteran QB is playing at a high level.
“When I see that on tape, this is a guy that’s seeing the field really well right now, and he’s trying to move defenders around. When you have an experienced player like that, that’s a dangerous thing,” Johnson said.

Johnson couldn’t have been more complimentary of Prescott, and if he keeps playing like this, the Cowboys could make a run for a playoff spot.
This could spell trouble for the Bears, and if their coaching staff doesn’t figure out a way to slow down this Dallas offense, they might end Week 3 with an 0-3 record, which would significantly hamper their chances of making the playoffs.
