Where the Bengals’ defensive line ranks among the rest of the NFL

The Cincinnati Bengals lost a key piece to their defensive line this offseason, but the unit is still ranked among the top half of the league.

PFF released their defensive line rankings for the upcoming season, and the Bengals’ line checked in at No. 13.

“Cincinnati’s defensive line lost D.J. Reader in the offseason and likely declined in quality in the aggregate following the additions of Sheldon Rankins and rookie Kris Jenkins Jr to replace him,” Sam Monson wrote.

“Trey Hendrickson is the most consistent force on this line. He notched 79 quarterback pressures last season while battling injury, but the team could really use another edge rusher who can offer a consistent threat on the other side.”

If the Bengals can get a big jump from Myles Murphy and a season where Sam Hubbard can stay healthy, then the consistent Hendrickson will have a lot of pass-rushing help which is what the Bengals need.
