A newly released docuseries shows a chirp aimed at Brad Marchand of the Boston Bruins from the Florida Panthers’ Matthew Tkachuk that gets very personal
For all the things fans might see and hear when taking in an NHL hockey game, there’s likely ten times more that doesn’t get noticed. This one would have been one of those if not for the ‘Faceoff: Inside the NHL,’ which is now available on Amazon Prime.
The docuseries shows several clips from the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs series between the Florida Panthers and Boston Bruins. Florida’s Matthew Tkachuk takes a jab at Bruins captain Brad Marchand that will likely leave a bad taste in the mouth of Boston fans. While the series doesn’t say exactly when the chirp took place, it was likely after a hit on Marchand on game 3 that caused him to miss the next two games.
‘You all right? You all right? Never seen a captain quit on his team,’ Tkachuk said to Marchand.

Given how hard Brad Marchand works, Tkachuk’s chirp likely won’t sit well with many Boston Bruins fans. Here is video of the hit in question. Marchand was the perpetrator, attempting to hit Sam Bennett of the Florida Panthers. However, he ended up hurting himself in the process.

Matthew Tkachuk loves to get under opponent’s skin, much in the same way Brad Marchand does at times. The former Calgary Flame took a shot at a rival after winning the Stanley Cup with Florida, saying ‘I couldn’t let Edmonton win’ after beating the Oilers in the Stanley Cup Final.

Matthew Tkachuk has solidified himself as one of the best pests in the league. Love him or hate him, he knows how to get opponents riled up, and he’s very good at it.
