Boston Bruins Sign Veteran Center to Seven-Year Deal

The Boston Bruins have announced the signing of free agent center Elias Lindholm to a seven-year, $54.25 million deal with an annual salary cap hit of $7.75 million per year. The former Vancouver Canucks forward has been on Boston’s radar for some time and fills a true need in Boston’s lineup. The Bruins have been searching for center help since the retirements of Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci, and Lindholm gives Boston a top-six center with a solid 200-foot game.

Lindholm, 29, played 26 regular season games with the Canucks during the 2023-24 season after being traded to Vancouver by the Calgary Flames as part of a four-team trade on January 31, 2024. In 26 games with the Canucks, the 6-foot-1, 202-pound right-shot center scored six goals and six assists and contributed five goals and five assists in 13 postseason games. Lindholm finished the season with 15 goals, 29 assists, and a 58.7 faceoff percentage in 75 total games.
