Browns Insider Makes A Bold Claim About This Year’s Roster

To say that the Cleveland Browns have struggled a lot would be a massive understatement.

This team used to be the standard for winning, but it’s been decades since the Otto Graham days.

Notably, GM Andrew Berry has done an outstanding job of putting those woes behind them.

And while they still have plenty of hurdles to clear, they seem to be heading in the right direction.

That’s why Browns insider Tony Grossi has no doubt in his mind that this is the best roster they’ve had since 1999.

Talking to Tony Rizzo on ESPN Cleveland, Grossi claimed that, for the third year in a row, the Browns have bettered themselves.

He acknowledges that there are some legitimate concerns about the offense, but he’s curious about how they might fare because they’ve never been this good.

He’s optimistic about them and believes the rest of the league shouldn’t sleep on Kevin Stefanski’s team.

Of course, that’s a bold statement, but looking back at the Browns’ history over the past two decades-plus, he might actually be right.

Talent-wise, this is a team that could make a deep postseason run.

They just need Deshaun Watson to play somewhat decent football and their defense to be more consistent on the road.

Kevin Stefanski has earned the benefit of the doubt, and they have arguably a top-five defensive coordinator in the game in Jim Schwartz.

Now, it’ll be up to them to prove Grossi was right all along for having this much faith in them.
