Bruins Announce Roster Move After Back-To-Back Losses

The Bruins took care of some roster management in between game days.

Less than 24 hours after its overtime home loss to St. Louis on Saturday, Boston announced it assigned forward Riley Tufte to Providence. The Bruins recalled Tufte ahead of the matinee matchup and the 26-year-old played a little under eight minutes in the 2019 Stanley Cup Final rematch. Tufte had a rough afternoon, as he was tied for a team-worst minus-two rating.

Saturday marked Tufte’s third game of the season with the Black and Gold. He appeared in two of the Bruins’ first six contests of the campaign but offered little to write home about in those performances. Tufte played less than 10 minutes in both games and failed to log a positive rating in either outing.

But unlike those mid-October battles, the Bruins came up short in Tufte’s latest go around with the club. Boston will try to return to the win column Monday when it hosts the Columbus Blue Jackets. NESN will have complete coverage beginning at 6 p.m. ET.
