Bruins Call Up Promising Prospect & Send Down Forward

The Boston Bruins have announced that forward Riley Duran has been recalled from their American Hockey League (AHL) affliate, the Providence Bruins. In addition, they shared that forward Patrick Brown has been assigned to Providence.

Duran, 23, has yet to make his NHL debut with the Bruins, but now that appears to be set to change with this call-up. The Bruins’ 2020 sixth-round pick has played in 58 games this season with Providence, where he has 12 goals, 16 points, and a plus-4 rating.

Duran is an interesting prospect in the Bruins’ system, as he is known for his speed and physicality. Now, the Woburn, Massachusetts native is getting his first regular-season shot on Boston’s roster because of it.

As for Brown, he will continue to be an important leader in Providence’s room following this latest demotion. In 52 contests this season as Providence’s captain, Brown has 16 goals and 44 points. He also has one assist, eight penalty minutes, and a minus-2 rating in 15 games for Boston this campaign.
