They did, however, show plenty of character in their last outing, almost snatching a last-gasp point with 10 men away to Newcastle United last weekend.

This weekend they face a Fulham side that lost 2-1 at home to Crystal Palace on Sunday to leave them in 15th, four points clear of the dropzone.

Both sides have some injury concerns to contend with heading into Saturday’s encounter, so here’s an early look at the team news for both outfits:

1. Enock Agyei (Burnley) – out
The winger recently took to social media to reveal he’s back on the grass after suffering an ACL meniscus injury in February.

2. Zeki Amdouni (Burnley) – out
The forward is expected to remain sidelined for the foreseeable future after being forced to undergo surgery during the summer on a crucial ligament tear.

3. Jordan Beyer (Burnley) – out
The defender is sidelined with a hamstring problem having just recovered from a long-standing knee injury, which has kept him out of action since December 2023.

4. Hannibal (Burnley) – suspended
The midfielder will serve the second game of his four-match ban after admitting an FA charge of spitting.

5. Bashir Humphreys (Burnley) – out
Scott Parker confirmed the defender’s recent absence from Burnley’s match day squads is a result of an injury setback, rather than team selection.

6. Lucas Pires (Burnley) – suspended
The left-back will serve a one-match ban after being shown a straight red card against Newcastle for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity.

7. Connor Roberts (Burnley) – out
The Welshman, who has yet to feature this season, is facing months on the sidelines after suffering a setback in his return from an Achilles injury.

8. Axel Tuanzebe (Burnley) – out
The defender has missed Burnley’s last two games after picking up an injury against Brentford, which is set to keep him out for a couple of weeks.

9. Kyle Walker (Burnley) – suspended
The full-back picked up his fifth booking of the season against Newcastle and will now serve a one-match ban.

FULHAM PLAYERS OUT

10. Rodrigo Muniz (Fulham) – out
The striker underwent surgery on his hamstring last month and is expected to remain out until the New Year.

11. Antonee Robinson (Fulham) – out
The left-back hasn’t featured for Fulham since the end of September due to a knee injury. Making good progress but this game is likely to come too soon.

12. Ryan Sessegnon (Fulham) – doubt
The full-back missed Fulham’s defeat to Crystal Palace at the weekend after suffering a hamstring injury.
