Calls Mount for Team to Make Blunt Move on Struggling Player After Week 4 Loss

The Green Bay Packers suffered their second loss of the season on Sunday, as they fell prey to San Darnold and the Minnesota Vikings to the tune of a 31-29 score. The loss was made even more disappointing by the missed field goals by kicker Brayden Narveson.

The Vikings scored 28 unanswered points in the first half, but the Packers would have not been blanked on the scoreboard that long had Narveson not missed two field goal attempts in the first half. His first miss came from only 37 yards away while the second one was from 49 yards.

Although the loss to the Vikings can’t be entirely pinned on Narveson, his two botched kicks get magnified because the Packers only lost by two points. Plus, Green Bay let go of two kickers prior to the season (Greg Joseph and Anders Carlson) before inkling Narveson, an undrafted rookie, who was cut by the Tennessee Titans.

People on social media want Brayden Narveson off the Green Bay Packers roster

“Brayden Narveson seems like a nice guy… It’s still time for a new kicker. He’s missed a kick in every single game this season. You can’t expect to be a legitimate Super Bowl contender with him at kicker.”

“NO, losing the game isn’t all on him but we should NOT be easy on Narveson. YOU LITERALLY HAVE ONE JOB!!!!! It’s pathetic. God I would kill for a consistent kicker again.”

“Brayden Narveson misses a 49-yarder wide right. Might be time for the Packers to find a new kicker.”

“I take no pleasure in saying this, but I think it’s time to consider firing Brayden Narveson and getting a new kicker. 6 more points in the first half could have changed the game. He’s young. He has potential. But he has whiffed too many times in the first 4 games to trust him.”
