Boston Celtics guard Jrue Holiday has quite an accomplished resume. Since joining the NBA in 2009, Holiday has won two titles, made two All-Star teams, and made six NBA All-Defense teams. Holiday might not be among the biggest names in the NBA, but he is commonly recognized for how impactful he is as a player.
In addition to the accolades he’s received, Holiday has also won multiple awards that don’t get much recognition these days compared to making an All-Star team or making All-Defense, like the Twyman-Stokes Teammate Award. Holiday’s won that award three times in 2020, 2022, and 2023. He also won the NBA’s Sportsmanship Award in 2021.
So it comes as no surprise that he’s been nominated this year. Before the Celtics’ game against the Miami Heat, the team announced that Holiday was a finalist to win the award again.
“Congrats @Jrue_Holiday11 on being named a finalist for the NBA Sportsmanship Award,” the team wrote on X.

Holiday has exhibited class throughout his NBA career. He’s never been one to get into fights with other players and has amassed only 12 technical fouls over his 16-year NBA career. He also hasn’t been called for a technical foul since the 2021-22 season.
Along with that, Holiday has only been called for a flagrant foul once in his NBA career. He has also never been ejected from a game. It’s evident that the NBA wants to recognize Holiday for how professional he is when he’s on the floor.
It’s fair to say that the Celtics guard has never been one to put himself above his team.
