Brett Veach and all of Chiefs Kingdom might want to send Bills GM Brandon Beane a gift basket following Thursday’s epic win over the Ravens.
Not only did Buffalo help Kansas City land Patrick Mahomes in one of the worst trades in NFL history, but Beane also gave the Chiefs first-round WR Xavier Worthy, who scored a pair of TDs on three touches in a dominant debut.
While the Bills were impressive in a comeback victory over the Cardinals, it’s impossible to ignore the elephant in the room.

Bills rookie Keon Coleman was solid in his debut as well, catching four passes, though no rookie was better than Worthy in Week 1. The trade looked foolish the moment it happened in the 2024 NFL Draft, yet Beane couldn’t help himself.
After losing three straight games to Mahomes and the Chiefs in the playoffs, Beane somehow decided it was in his best interests to step on the rake yet again. Maybe this is the time Lucy won’t move the football, eh Charlie Brown?
Even if Josh Allen leads Buffalo to the playoffs, no one will reasonably believe he can beat Mahomes. Perhaps he eventually will one day, but that day doesn’t look anywhere close to this 2024-25 season. The Chiefs are heavy favorites to make the Super Bowl yet again, largely because of the Bills’ actions.
If Beane looks down at his phone and sees Veach calling, it’s obvious he needs to ignore it. Worthy looks like one the perfect fit for this offense, and the Bills have no one to blame but themselves.
