The Dallas Cowboys suffered their worst home loss since 1988 in Week 6 against the Detroit Lions, dropping a 47-9 decision.
It was also the most lopsided home defeat of the Jerry Jones era, as the 82-year-old owner took over the franchise in 1989.
Since winning three Super Bowls in Jones’ first seven seasons with the organization, Dallas hasn’t returned to the Big Game (or even a conference championship contest) despite 13 playoff berths during the stretch.
As the Cowboys head into their Week 7 bye at 3-3, Jones is showing every sign of turning into a curmudgeon.
He made his weekly appearance on 105.3 The Fan’s “Shan & RJ” show and blasted the radio hosts for their questioning style.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan was about as fired up as I've ever heard him during one of his weekly radio interviews. He was very defensive when asked about not making more moves in the offseason.

Jerry Jones was heated in his interview with @1053SS & @rjchoppy on @1053thefan (especially at the end of this clip)… 😳 pic.twitter.com/x9fWrcbJDn

Jones, head coach Mike McCarthy and other members of the organization will indeed be asked about the rant soon.
For now, it’s a bad look for the longtime owner, especially as the team struggles to prepare for their bye.
The Cowboys have a challenging slate of games coming out of their break, traveling to take on the San Francisco 49ers (3-3) and Atlanta Falcons (4-2) on the road in Weeks 8 and 9. Dallas will then return home (where the team is 0-3 this season) to host the Philadelphia Eagles (3-2) and Houston Texans (5-1) in Weeks 10 and 11 before going to the nation’s capital to play the Washington Commanders (4-2) in Week 12.
Fans may not have heard the last of grumpy Jerry.
