Crysencio Summerville to West Ham transfer saga takes a new and very interesting turn

West Ham United are said to be in the race to sign Crysencio Summerville from Leeds United this summer.

However, the transfer saga has just taken a new and very interesting twist.

Crysencio Summerville is an elite talent, so it’s easy to see why West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui wants to sign him.

It has been reported that the reason why West Ham dropped out of the race to sign Matias Soule was because Lopetegui is prioritising a move to bring Summerville to the London Stadium instead.

I don’t blame the Spaniard one little bit. Soule is obviously a great player, but I believe Summerville is easily as good AND he plays in a position where we’re currently very short – left wing.

However, a new update regarding the situation has just emerged, and it could spell disaster for the Hammers…

Crysencio Summerville to West Ham saga takes an interesting turn

Summerville, 22, is a player who the Hammers have been strongly linked with signing over the past few months.

Leeds could ask for around £30 million for the young Dutch winger (TEAMtalk), and that sounds like exceptional value to me.

The fact that he’s a right footed left winger makes him absolutely perfect for West Ham this summer.

He would complete our front-line, so it’s easy to see why the latest claims coming out of Italy could be so damaging to us.

According to a report from Corriere dello Sport, Roma are now switching their attention to signing Summerville from Leeds.

That comes after it was reported that the Italian giants were close to beating West Ham to the signing of Soule (Juve FC).

Summerville bagged an impressive 21 goals and 10 assists in 49 appearances for Leeds United last season.

He is an exceptionally talented young player, has pace to burn and backs up his electric speed with real output inside the final third.

Described by TEAMtalk as ‘electric’ Summerville is undoubtedly ready to make the jump up to Premier League stardom.

He’s been labelled as ‘explosive’ as well by TEAMtalk, and he’d be an exceptional addition to Lopetegui’s ranks at the London Stadium.

However, Roma’s alleged interest in signing the Leeds star could spell disaster for the Hammers.

West Ham could now miss out on not only Matias Soule to Roma, but Crysencio Summerville as well – bad news indeed.
