David Haye Sums Up How Anthony Joshua vs Jake Paul Will End In Just 4 Words

Former heavyweight champion David Haye has given his view on the reported fight between Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul.

This is a fight that Paul has long been calling for, but one very few people would have actually expected to be made. Joshua is a former two-time unified ruler and huge puncher, while Paul has had just 13 fights, mostly against former MMA stars or ageing, retired boxers. His sole loss came at the hands of Tommy Fury, who is regarded as national title level.

Speaking to Pro Boxing Fans, Haye assessed the danger of the match-up – which will reportedly be sanctioned as a professional bout – looking back on Joshua’s quick knockout of Francis Ngannou and predicting ‘a quick, explosive knockout’

“If you get knocked out, it’s one thing for [Francis] Ngannou getting knocked out with one shot, he’s a big, big man, 20 stone, absolute monster. Jake Paul is a cruiserweight and when you get hit by someone like Anthony Joshua he’s going to put you out and if you get put out, you’re going to have to go to the hospital for a brain scan. Hopefully this isn’t the case, he’s not going to be dehydrated cause it’s heavyweight. ”

“It might be a quick, explosive knockout rather than a long sustained beating where the real brain damage takes place so maybe it’s a good thing if it’s over quickly for Jake Paul. There’s nothing he has done in any of his previous fights where you can say if he does this, that’s going to work against Anthony Joshua. His best shot bounces off Joshua and the opposite isn’t the case. I think ‘AJ’ gets him out of there very comfortably.”

Even though Joshua has not fought since September 2024 when he was stopped by Daniel Dubois in their IBF title fight, few would predict against him winning this one in brutal fashion.
