Newcastle United have extended their partnership with sports betting brand BetMGM ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.
Launched last year by LeoVegas, a subsidiary of world-renowned hospitality company MGM International, BetMGM’s UK headquarters is in Newcastle. Eagle-eyed supporters may have spotted the brand’s logo emblazoned on advertising boardings and screens last season.
The partnership began 12 months ago and will continue as part of the new “official betting partner” deal. FUN88 will remain as Newcastle’s gambling affiliate in Asia after ending the front-of-sponsor agreement prematurely last year.
The announcement comes as Toon chiefs desperately try to raise funds before the June 30 FFP/PSR deadline. Failing to comply with the Premier League restrictions – with the Magpies close to the wire – could result in a points deduction next season.
“Newcastle United and BetMGM have had an exceptional first year together,” Peter Silverstone, Newcastle’s Chief Commercial Officer, told the club website about the BetMGM extension. “We have helped BetMGM to drive brand awareness and engagement in key markets, supporting its aim to create the world’s greatest iGaming experience.
“This new agreement is testament to how effective the club’s profile and support have been to BetMGM. We are delighted to enhance our support of one another on the next step of our exciting journeys.”
The UK director at BetMGM added: “Our BetMGM partnership with Newcastle United has been a success, and we are delighted to continue building on this fruitful collaboration.
“The club is incredibly ambitious, and their drive perfectly aligns with our Group’s core values. I can’t wait to get this season started and see Newcastle United continue on their journey.”
