For much of the last season, the relationship between Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni and Jalen Hurts appeared to be strained.
That will happen when a team loses six of their final seven games to end a year with Sirianni and Hurts having differing ways to handle adversity. Even so, the only way Philadelphia can get back on track is if their quarterback and head coach can get back on the same page.
After their Week 5 bye week, it appears that is exactly what happened.
Hurts spoke to media members Wednesday and gave a glowing review of Sirianni and how a few meetings have brought harmony to the two of them.
“We are the two leaders of the team,” Hurts said. “I’m happy and fortunate that we were able to come together in harmony and have the same goal in mind and try to get this thing right. I got a ton of confidence in him.
“A ton of confidence in what he brings. Everything he has been able to accomplish…Everybody goes through different moments. Everybody experiences adversity. We’ve experienced different moments of adversity together. We are excited for what’s to come.”
If Sirianni and Hurts can rebuild their relationship, it may save Philadelphia’s season entirely moving forward.
Only time and adversity will tell that story going into their Week 6 contest against the Cleveland Browns, though.
