Everton have a “50/50” chance of acquiring the services of Yankuba Minteh this summer, according to Alan Myers.
The journalist took to X on 29 June to answer a question around Everton’s hopes of bringing Minteh to Goodison Park.
Myers did, however, also go on to say that a number of things would need to happen in order for a deal to be struck.
The journalist also added that a deal will always be likely until the window is shut or the winger moves elsewhere, amid strong interest from Brighton and Hove Albion.
Why Everton want to sign Yankuba Minteh from Newcastle
Former Feyenoord player Willem van Hanegem described Minteh as “extremely dangerous” after he joined the Rotterdam-based outfit last summer.
And dangerous he was. The attacker played a total of 37 games and managed to contribute to a total of 17 goals during his time under Arne Slot.
Not only does this showcase Minteh’s ability but also outlines why Everton are still vying for his transfer.
It also helps that on 28 June it was reported that the Newcastle starlet’s favoured destination was Everton [Fabrizio Romano], despite interest from elsewhere, although Brighton’s interest may have changed that.
50/50

It feels as if the Toffees are readying themselves for a season of change in 2024/25 as the Merseyside club have already been linked with a plethora of players this summer.
And the fact that Ben Godfrey has now departed the club for pastures new outlines that no player is safe this term.
Only time will tell whether Everton will end up in yet another relegation battle or whether they’ll prosper and find their way into the top half of the table.
