Crystal Palace have been charged by the FA for failing to ensure their supporters did not act in an improper, offensive, abusive or provocative way.
The misconduct charge arrived after Palace supporters revealed a banner directed at Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis during the 1-1 Premier League draw with Forest at Selhurst Park last August.
The banner showed the Forest owner holding a gun to the head of their midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White and said: “Mr Marinakis is not involved in blackmail, match-fixing, drug trafficking or corruption.”
Gibbs-White almost signed for Tottenham in the previous transfer window but signed a new contract at the City Ground.
The match between the two teams last August had added spice as it was the first since FA Cup winners Palace were relegated by Uefa to the Conference League due to a breach of multi-club ownership rules. Forest took their place in the Europa League.
Palace, who face old rivals Brighton at Selhurst Park this Sunday, have until Tuesday to respond to the FA charge.
