Farhad Moshiri in close relationship with group after Everton takeover bid

Farhad Moshiri has already established a close relationship with potential new Everton owners George Bell and Andy Downing, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper has reported that the duo are hopeful of becoming the club’s new owners, particularly given they also have the support of multi-billionaire Michael Dell.

Moshiri’s attempts to sell his 94.1 per cent stake at Goodison Park are yet to come to fruition after nine months of talks with 777 Partners came to nothing, but his relationship with Bell and Downing finally could result in a breakthrough.

Moshiri to sign off on new Everton takeover

Bell and Downing making their acquaintances with Moshiri in recent months is undoubtedly a step in the right direction for their potential takeover of Everton, given how much the Iranian’s preferences have shaped the club’s recent saga.

Moshiri’s insistence on 777 Partners being the group to succeed him in charge has hamstrung the last nine months’ worth of discussions, as he kept faith with the Miami-based group despite them never satisfying Premier League ownership rules.

Even after their extended deadline to repay a sum loaned to the club by MSP Capital passed on 31 May, ending the share purchase agreement first signed in September, Moshiri is reportedly still keen to keep 777 in the fold as discussions with other parties begin.

Though Dell’s reported bid has been dismissed by some American outlets, Bell and Downing are still extremely wealthy themselves and already have money invested in the club [The Telegraph].

Hopefully, this saga can be ended very shortly.
