Gabriel Jesus posts promising Arsenal injury update in training as star returns to former club on trip

Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus is appearing to step up some of his recovery from a serious knee injury while away from the action.

The Brazilian has faced a tough 2024/25 campaign so far, with minutes limited in the first half of the season.

Then, around the turn of the new year, Gabriel Jesus scored a hat-trick against Crystal Palace that kick-started an impressive run of form.

Unfortunately for Arsenal, that couldn’t be sustained as Gabriel Jesus picked up an ACL injury in January that required a procedure.

With the forward ruled out for the rest of the season, there was further disaster as Kai Havertz’s hamstring injury also kept him sidelined.

As both look to make their recoveries, there has been a promising update from Gabriel Jesus that indicates he is stepping up his rehabilitation to full fitness.

Gabriel Jesus posts cycling video in latest injury recovery boost

After surgery, Gabriel Jesus is not expected to return until the early knockings of the next Premier League season.

It comes as a blow, with an ACL injury often taking quite some time to recover from fully, due to its complicated nature.

The strength in the knee has to be built up gradually again before a player can return, meaning Arsenal will be key in sticking by the forward through the long journey.

While that journey will take some time, Jesus is nearing the third month of recovery, which is roughly one-third of the way through it on average.

In a huge boost, the striker recently revealed he has ditched the crutches, capable of walking unassisted once again.

Moving on one month from then, Jesus took to his Instagram to show him in training, this time cycling as he looks to build up knee strength.

It’s the next step up in his progress towards full fitness once again.

That’s not the only thing he has been doing, though, having recently visited some familiar faces at a former club.

Gabriel Jesus returns to Palmeiras for Brazil visit

While Gabriel Jesus has been busy recovering, he has spent some of his downtime away from Arsenal and actually at one of his old clubs.

The forward was spotted at Palmeiras, watching on as the Brazilian outfit beat Cerro Porteno 1-0 in the Copa Libertadores.

Palmeiras were the club that Jesus originally broke through with in senior football, before moving on to Manchester City.

The forward made 83 appearances for the side, scoring 28 goals that put him on the radar of the Premier League clubs.

While all those years on he has won plenty, he still remembers where it all started.
