Green Bay Packers: Head Coach Matt LaFleur Talks About 1 Major Adjustment Made So Far In 2024

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur met with the media on Monday. There will not be any practice until Wednesday. This season, Green Bay is 5-2 and they play in the toughest division in the NFL.

The Packers defeated the Houston Texans 24-22 at home on Sunday afternoon. Houston is also 5-2 this season. Brandon McManus hit the game-winning 45-yard field goal as time expired.

Green Bay Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur Talks About the 2-Minute Drill Adjustments This Season

When the Houston Texans took a 22-21 lead over the Green Bay Packers with less than two minutes in regulation, the Packers only had one timeout to work with to get into field goal range. Quarterback Jordan Love did a good job of marching them down the field to get themselves into a good field goal position.

Head coach Matt LaFleur spoke to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic on Monday about the two-minute offense in the past game against the Houston Texans. LaFleur said:

“We had a lot of mistakes on two-minute situations (last season), from players to coaching … I thought our execution yesterday was pretty solid.”

This is a pretty telling statement from the head coach. It goes to show not only that he has learned a lot from this year to last year, but quarterback Jordan Love also has as well. Love is always known for taking risks in football games, but he has to also be smart with the football in various situations.

Looking Ahead

Hopefully, the Packers will not have to worry about another two-minute situation in the fourth quarter of a game for a while. However, LaFleur and the rest of the team will be getting ready to prepare for a road matchup this week against the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-5).

This is a game that Jordan Love and the Packers offense should do well in. Green Bay’s defense will also look to feast against an offense that is hit or miss.
