Green Bay Packers: Jordan Love Receives Ridiculous Ranking By CBS Sports

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is ready to take the league by storm in 2024. There were ups and downs with him during the 2023 season, but it was more good than bad toward the end of the season. Love appears to be the next great franchise quarterback after having Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers.

Packers fans feel like they are ready to take the next step this season because of the way Love played toward the end of last season. Love sat a few years behind Aaron Rodgers after being drafted in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Utah State.

Last year, Jordan Love completed 64.2% of his passes and threw for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He also rushed for 247 yards on 50 carries and four touchdowns, along with averaging 4.9 yards per carry.

CBS Sports Pete Frisco Ranks Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love 87th In His Top 100

A season ago, Jordan Love was not ranked in CBS Sports Top 100 players. Entering the 2024 season, it is a whole different ball game with him. Love is ranked the 87th best player in the NFL, according to CBS Sports Pete Frisco.

Frisco said:

“In his first full season as a starter, he showed he can be the Packers’ long-term quarterback. He threw 32 touchdown passes and 11 picks in leading the Packers to the playoffs. The best is yet to come for him.”

CBS Sports has 13 quarterbacks ranked of Love on this list. Love was seventh in the NFL a season ago in passing yards and was second in the NFL in passing touchdowns. A few quarterbacks that are ranked ahead of him that seem questionable are Aaron Rodgers (20th, New York Jets), Dak Prescott (49th, Dallas Cowboys), Trevor Lawrence (62nd, Jacksonville Jaguars), Tua Tagovailoa (65th, Miami Dolphins), Jared Goff (76th, Detroit Lions), and Brock Purdy (85th, San Francisco 49ers).

He will climb the list for next season if Love takes his game to another level. Dak Prescott was the only quarterback last season in the NFL who threw more touchdown passes than him with 36. The only quarterbacks who threw more passing yards than him were Jared Goff, Brock Purdy, Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Dak Prescott, and Tua Tagovailoa.

Tua Tagovailoa led the league with 4.624 passing yards last season with the Miami Dolphins. It will be hard for him to repeat that this season.

Some fans think Love is a potential dark horse to win the MVP Award this season. Love does not belong in the same category as Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, or Patrick Mahomes for now, but he belongs with the tier-2 quarterbacks.
