When the NFL Playoffs get underway, the Green Bay Packers will be the No. 7 seed in the NFC, and will be hitting the road, again, in the first round.
There’s a decent chance that the Packers and NFC North rival Chicago Bears will meet at Soldier Field, if Caleb Williams and Co. secure the No. 2 seed in the NFC, giving a beleaguered Green Bay roster the chance to hand out some revenge from the loss that sunk them from the top of the division standings in Week 16.
Packers get dire warning ahead of NFL Playoffs
Saturday night’s loss at Lambeau Field to the Ravens should be a loud warning for the Packers, with the postseason looming.
It wasn’t Lamar Jackson behind center for Baltimore; rather, backup Snoop Huntley, and the Ravens still dominated the Packers’ defense in just about every phase, but especially on the ground.
“The Ravens were a one-dimensional offense on Saturday night,” Tyler Sullivan writes of Green Bay’s woes, for CBS Sports. “And, while Derrick Henry is an all-time talent, allowing 41 points is alarming. Those concerns on defense are only heightened when factoring in that they’ll be on the road after losing the NFC North title. Away from Lambeau Field, the Packers are giving up 25.1 points per game this season compared to 17.9 points per game at home.”
The glaring disparity between Green Bay’s home and road defensive performances has become impossible to ignore as the stakes move to the win-or-go-home stage. Especially after watching the dam break against the Ravens.
Unless Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley can scheme up an insane amount of pressure on opposing quarterbacks when the playoffs get underway, losing Micah Parsons, and his impact on the rest of the defense, is going to be the defining moment of this season for Green Bay.
