Insider Says Packers Have Trade Interest In Cowboys Star

The Green Bay Packers find themselves monitoring one of the NFL’s most intriguing contract standoffs.

Micah Parsons remains locked in negotiations with Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, creating ripple effects across the league as teams assess potential opportunities to land the elite pass rusher.

Speculation about Parsons leaving Dallas has intensified recently.

The Packers have emerged as a team with legitimate interest should the situation change.

Insider Matt Schneidman recently shed light on Green Bay’s position during a segment on The Pat McAfee Show.

“Right now, to my knowledge, Jerry is not even listening to trade offers, so I’m not sure an actual trade offer can be made, unless he picks up the phone. So, the Packers may have an outline of what they would offer, but if Jerry Jones isn’t listening to legitimate trade offers, then I’m not sure that one is technically on the table. But, if he does entertain it, from what I’ve heard, the Packers will be interested and will be in the mix,” Schneidman said.

Parsons delivered another dominant campaign in 2024 with 12 sacks and 30 solo tackles across 13 games.

His production makes him one of the most coveted defenders available.

The linebacker has pushed for both a trade and a long-term extension that reflects his market value.

Jones has maintained his stance that any deal must meet his compensation demands.

Reports suggest the Cowboys would seek multiple first-round picks plus additional assets, potentially including a skill-position player.

The financial component adds another layer of complexity for Green Bay.

With quarterback Jordan Love secured on a $220 million deal, the Packers must balance their desire to upgrade the pass rush with salary cap realities.

Green Bay struggled to generate consistent pressure last season, making Parsons an attractive target.
