Jets WR Davante Adams catches 100th career touchdown pass

Welcome to the Century Club, Davante Adams.

The New York Jets’ wide receiver scored the 100th receiving touchdown of his career with 4:33 remaining in the third quarter Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

It was a vintage fade route from the 1-yard line, with quarterback Aaron Rodgers dropping a feathery pass into a tight window — a play they’ve run countless times in their careers. More importantly, it gave the Jets a 17-16 lead.

Adams appeared to have a touchdown on the previous play on a short swing pass, but the replay showed that the ball was outside the pylon in a collision at the goal line. It was a great effort by Adams, and he came up inches short. Maybe Rodgers felt bad for his close friend; he dialed up his number on the next play for the touchdown.
