Like all NBA stars, Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers receives his fair share of hate from critics, especially those online.
This is nothing new and Embiid isn’t the only one to see angry tweets, messages, and diatribes about him.
But unlike others, Embiid actually enjoys it.
According to Check Ball Show, per Legion Hoops, Embiid spoke about how much he likes paying attention to the hate against him on social media.
Embiid said:
“I like when people tell me I can’t win cause it makes me push myself to be better. I’m probably the most hated guy in the league. I don’t know what there’s to hate about me. That’s the motivation I need.”

There can be a debate about Embiid being “the most hated guy in the league” but he definitely has a lot of people who speak out against him.
They critique his physicality, how often he gets hurt, and his failures in the playoffs.
Right now, those critics are saying he isn’t performing as well as he should for Team USA.
Embiid has looked out of place and sometimes out of shape during exhibition games and it has a lot of people worried, including those who usually support him.
His mindset is a healthy one and it proves that the negative talk won’t get him down.
He says he uses it as a tool and it allows him to push himself harder and achieve more.
That means the people who speak ill of Embiid might lead him to win a gold medal in just a few weeks.
