For the last two games, it appeared that the New York Knicks appeared to be a broken team that has struggled to score points when it mattered most and make key defensive stops.
Things changed quickly when they got back to Madison Square Garden.
New York blew out the downtrodden Milwaukee Bucks Friday night to a 116-94 victory thanks to another big game from All-NBA center Karl-Anthony Towns and some clutch defending overall.
The Knicks led by 17 at the half thanks to 35 overall assists and 48 rebounds – both were overwhelming advantages over a contending Bucks team that fell to 2-7 on the season.
Making things even more interesting was the fact while Towns was successful with a 4-8 three-point percentage, the Knicks didn’t get good shooting from any of their top guards.
OG Anunoby, Jalen Brunson, and Mikal Bridges combined to go 4-24 from beyond the arc, but did get a strong 27-point bench run led by Miles McBride’s 14 points.
While New York only outscored Milwaukee by three points in the second half, the team was dominant throughout the entire contest and it allowed them to get back to .500 in the win.
New York will be back on the court Sunday night against the Indiana Pacers before the start of NBA cup play against the Philadelphia 76ers.
