Kevin Durant hypes up ‘baby GOAT’ Anthony Edwards

Kevin Durant and Anthony Edwards fresh off from winning gold at the Paris Olympics recently shared their Olympic experience at FanaticsFest. It subsequently led to Durant affectionately calling Edwards the “baby GOAT,” in reference to his future legendary status as the face of the league.

Anthony Edward‘s time at the Olympics allowed him to learn from Kevin Durant and other veterans like the Los Angeles Lakers and NBA all-time leading scorer LeBron James and Golden State Warriors three-point specialist Stephen Curry. According to reports, he spent most of his time with Durant, who he once called his childhood idol, and studied his game to improve his own.

Man, I call him the baby GOAT you know what I mean? Kevin Durant said on Anthony Edwards

Durant and Edwards have now established a good and professional relationship after spending weeks together at the Summer games, and as they prepare for the upcoming NBA season, they are expected to play major roles in their respective team’s standings. Ant-Man’s Timberwolves are contenders this coming season after making an impressive run to the Western Conference Finals last season.

The 2020 NBA Draft number one pick will face new challenges next season and would be eager to show all he’s learned from his mentor and idol. The Wolves will open their season against the Los Angeles Lakers, while the Suns are against the LA Clippers.

Potential superteam proposed for Anthony Edwards and Kevin Durant in Minnesota

During a recent edition of ESPN’s First Take, Kendrick Perkins sparked speculation about a potential superteam that features Anthony Edwards and Kevin Durant in Minnesota. While Durant is currently under contract with the Suns for two more years, a trade could be possible, but it would likely require the Wolves to lose star center Karl-Anthony Towns .

After this NBA season, we might see some moving parts. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a reunion with Steph Curry and KD or LeBron James and Steph actually making it happen, or we see Kevin Durant go to Minnesota with Anthony Edwards because we saw they had a signature handshake. Those relationships happen, man. Kendrick Perkins said Monday on ESPN’s First Take

The idea of pairing Edwards with Durant, his childhood idol, would cause a frenzy among fans all over. Durant, with 16 years under his belt is still an elite scorer, and his presence could help reduce luxury tax penalties for the T-Wolves.

While a trade is hypothetical for now, anything can happen in the NBA and the possibility of these two stars teaming up in Minnesota is an exciting prospect that fans would be eager for. Additionally, Durant’s contract would expire after the 2025-26 season, which gives the Wolves flexibility if they are to consider Perkins’ wild take.
