The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday and handed them their second consecutive loss. On Tuesday, the Lakers will get another crack at Oklahoma City and have a chance to hand them their first three-game losing streak of the season.
While the Thunder have already clinched the No. 1 seed in the West and will likely end the season with the best overall record in the NBA, the Lakers are still in a tight race.
Currently the No. 3 seed, the Lakers are just 1.5 games ahead of the Denver Nuggets in the standings. Additionally, only two games separate them and the No. 8 seed Memphis Grizzlies. As the Lakers look to secure a top-three seed this season, each game from here on out is important for them to win.
Ahead of their game against the Thunder on Tuesday, the Lakers made an important announcement regarding star Luka Doncic that will be important to monitor.
After the shocking trade that sent him to Los Angeles in February, Doncic has appeared in 25 games for the team. Additionally, he has played nine consecutive games for the Lakers.
However, the team has listed Doncic as questionable to play against the Thunder due to a groin injury.

During his time with the Lakers this season, Doncic has averaged 27.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 7.7 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. He is important to take Lakers’ success and will play a crucial role in the playoffs.
If he is unable to go against Oklahoma City, Doncic’s next chance to suit up will be on Wednesday against his former team, the Dallas Mavericks.
