Leeds United’s Deadline Day Snub Hurts More as Club Slashes £13m Off Transfer Fee

Deadline day is upon us and Leeds United look set to try and do some last-minute business.

This summer’s transfer window has been a relatively positive one for Leeds United and Daniel Farke, who have already welcomed 10 new players to Elland Road. The last was James Justin.

In August, Leeds United completed a £10m deal for Justin from Leicester City, taking the Whites’ summer transfer spending beyond the £100m mark.

But having scored just one goal in their opening three Premier League games, Farke says Leeds United want more attacking signings ahead of deadline day, with the window shutting at 11pm on Monday.

Cut price fee revealed for Bilal El Khannouss after Leeds United blow

Leeds have been very keen on Justin’s Leicester City team-mate Bilal El Khannouss. For the past several weeks, Leeds United have been chasing a deal for El Khannouss, but the Whites have faced stern competition from the likes of Crystal Palace and Spurs in the race to sign the Moroccan international.

Then, ahead of deadline day, we exclusively revealed that Leeds United had re-entered talks with El Khannouss and were making a push to sign the 21-year-old in the final days of the window. That was until Stuttgart beat Leeds United in the race to sign El Khannouss, agreeing a loan deal for the Leicester City man.

And now, Sacha Tavolieri has added to Leeds’ pain, revealing that Stuttgart have an obligatory obligation to buy El Khannouss for just €25m, which is £13m less than the £35m fee that Leeds United were being quoted.
